This study develops a 151amjs澳金沙门(中国)有限公司–land institutional fit perspective and examines how irrigation-well ownership and land-tenure attributes jointly shape farmers’ 151amjs澳金沙门(中国)有限公司-use outcomes. Using 2023 household survey data from 587 well-irrigated grain-producing households, we estimate models linking private, joint, and collective wells with rented-in land share, lease duration, and plot contiguity. The results show that private wells are associated with lower irrigation 151amjs澳金沙门(中国)有限公司 use and higher physical 151amjs澳金沙门(中国)有限公司 productivity, while collective wells are generally associated with weaker 151amjs澳金沙门(中国)有限公司-productivity outcomes. Land-renting participation itself is linked to higher irrigation intensity, but more stable and spatially integrated land-tenure attributes are generally associated with more efficient 151amjs澳金沙门(中国)有限公司 use. The interaction results further reveal conditional institutional effects: joint wells exhibit 151amjs澳金沙门(中国)有限公司-saving complementarity when land tenure is stable or contiguous, whereas private wells may weaken the marginal 151amjs澳金沙门(中国)有限公司-saving gains from land-tenure improvement under weak abstraction constraints. Robustness checks and supplementary endogeneity checks broadly support these patterns, and pathway analysis suggests that technology adoption, infrastructure investment, and 151amjs澳金沙门(中国)有限公司-access stability are relevant behavioral channels. The findings highlight the need to coordinate well governance, land-tenure stability, and groundwater-use constraints.
